A valuable conversation at TIFF.25 about the people at the heart of every film production: screenwriters.
Our Co-Managing Partner, Iulia Burbea, had the pleasure of joining representatives of the Romanian Screenwriters Guild and the Federation of Screenwriters in Europe for a discussion on the protection of screenwriters and the challenges facing creators in today’s audiovisual landscape.
The conversation explored authors’ rights, the realities of a rapidly evolving industry, and the legal mechanisms needed to support and protect creative work.
“For me, this was an opportunity to reflect on how essential it is for legal tools to keep pace with the realities of creative industries. In audiovisual projects, the screenwriter’s contribution is a core element of the entire creative process and this contribution deserves practical and enforceable protection.
